How to Put On a

Lay flat, mesh up
Place the harness flat on the floor with the soft mesh side facing up toward your cat.
Step paws in
Gently place your cat's front paws into the two arm-hole circles, then pull the harness up and around the chest.
Button & secure
Close all 3 buttons along the back. Clip the leash hook through both D-rings for a balanced, secure attachment.
Check the fit
You should be able to slide two fingers under the harness. Too tight = adjust size. Too loose = try smaller. Always supervise during use.
- Let your cat sniff and explore the harness on the floor before putting it on — reduces stress dramatically.
- Do a few indoor harness sessions before any outdoor adventure. 10 minutes at a time builds confidence.
- Never leave your cat unsupervised in a harness. Always remove after walks.
- If your cat freezes or flops — that's normal! Give them a treat and keep sessions short and positive.
- Use both D-rings for the leash so the pull force is distributed evenly across the chest.
How to Fit a
Kiokatt Collar
All Kiokatt collars use a safety breakaway buckle — it releases under pressure so your cat can never get stuck. Here's how to get the perfect fit.
Measure first
Use a soft tape measure around your cat's neck where a collar naturally sits. Add 1–2 inches for the two-finger rule.
Open the buckle
Press both sides of the breakaway buckle to open. Never pull the collar over your cat's head — always unbuckle first.
Fasten & adjust
Fasten around the neck and slide the adjuster until snug. Adjust the d-ring to sit centered under the chin.
The two-finger test
Slide two fingers between the collar and your cat's neck. Fits easily = perfect. Can't fit two fingers = too tight, loosen immediately.
- The breakaway buckle is a safety feature — it's designed to release if your cat gets snagged on something, preventing injury or choking.
- Because of this, never attach a leash directly to a breakaway collar — use a harness for walks.
- Check collar fit monthly, especially for kittens — cats grow fast!

Cat Collar Sizing
Measure your cat's neck at the natural collar position — where the neck meets the shoulders.
- 1Wrap a soft tape measure around the neck at the base.
- 2Note the measurement in inches.
- 3Add 1–2 inches for comfort (two-finger rule).
- 4Most adult cats fit 8–12 inch collars.
Harness Sizing
You'll need two measurements: neck circumference and chest girth (the widest part of the chest behind the front legs).
- 1Measure neck: base of neck, same as collar.
- 2Measure chest: wrap tape behind front legs at widest point.
- 3When sizes overlap, size up for comfort or down for a more secure fit.
Cat Clothing Sizing
Cat clothing fits best when you have the chest, back length, and neck measurements. Back length is the most important for shirts and hoodies.
- 1Back length: base of neck to base of tail.
- 2Chest girth: same as harness measurement above.
- 3If between sizes, size up — cats need room to move.
Keep it cute, keep it clean.
Collars & Harnesses
Spot clean with a damp cloth for light dirt. For deeper cleaning, hand wash cold with mild soap. Lay flat to dry — never tumble dry or machine wash.
Cat Clothing
Hand wash cold or gentle machine cycle in a mesh laundry bag. Cold water only. Lay flat or line dry. Do not iron directly over printed designs.
Charms & Hardware
Wipe metal charms and D-rings with a dry cloth. Avoid prolonged soaking — this can cause tarnish. Dry immediately after any water exposure.
Storage
Store collars unclasped when not in use to maintain the buckle mechanism. Keep out of direct sunlight to preserve color vibrancy.
